Rider Performance Mechanical Horse

Sparsholt College Sparsholt, Winchester

Do you know if you sit a little crooked in the saddle? Are you stronger on one side of your body than the other? Do you actually know where your ‘core’ is and how to use it? The mechanical simulator has lots of sensors and screens and can take you through a range of paces and movements to help you improve your posture, straightness and effectiveness.
The Racewood Performance Simulator “Charisma” can inform you of your symmetry, forces through your seat, stirrups, legs and hands, awareness of your position and, with the help of Amy, your ridden performance. He can do basic flat work to Grand Prix movements, jump 60-110cm showjumping and cross country as well as go for a hack! Amy has an MSc focusing on rider symmetry and performance and works with this super talented horse to improve your position, strength and balance to help your horse at home!
Only 6 spaces. We have the horse booked for 2.5 hours from 9.30 – 12:00 with three people sharing a 1h15mins session.
£25/£20 per person, all bookings through My Riding Life. Link above.
Important: The simulator has a weight limit of 16 stone. Please make sure you are within the limit – they do have scales at Sparsholt and WILL weigh you if necessary! You will need to wear riding clothes, hat, boots and gloves and preferably a close fitting top so it’s easy to see your position – baggy hoodies do not help show your symmetry!

The course will be different each session. It would be beneficial to attend all three sessions but not essential.

When you book please indicate what level of dressage you are at training and competing and whether you’d like to jump (they are very small for gymnastic jumping) or would rather stick to raised poles.

£25 for Members and £35 for Non-members. However, if you are not a member now would be a good time to join Membership
